What is “Cradle Roll Nursery Bible Class” book? It’s a simple, gentle guide for teaching the youngest hearts about God—through song.
Teaching babies and toddlers in Bible class is such a special opportunity. Their little eyes, ears, and hearts are wide open to the world—and it’s our joy to help shape their very first experiences with God’s Word.
But let’s be honest—when you’re leading a class of squirmy, giggly, or sleepy little ones, it can be hard to keep things flowing smoothly. That’s where this book comes in.

Having a compiled, ready-to-go book of Bible class songs for babies is a game changer.
It takes the guesswork out of teaching and gives you a plan you can follow with confidence—so you can spend less time stressing and more time connecting.
Why I Created This Book
When my three children went through the cradle roll class at church, I was so grateful for the wonderful women who taught them. These ladies had years of experience and a flow to their class that was so comforting and consistent. They had memorized all the songs, knew just how to transition, and used simple props to keep little ones engaged.
When I was asked to fill in for that class during my second child’s baby years, I suddenly realized—not everyone has that kind of experience.
Even though I had a background in early childhood education and had taught kindergarten, this kind of teaching—Bible class taught entirely through song—was something new to me. I knew a handful of kids Bible songs, but I often found myself unsure of what to sing next, what tune to use, and how to keep things flowing.
That’s when I started writing it all down. I needed something that would help me teach with confidence—and I knew other teachers and parents might need that too.
What’s Inside the Book

This book is designed to walk you through a complete Sunday school class from start to finish. Whether you’re a seasoned teacher or stepping in for the very first time, it will help you feel prepared and at ease.
In this book there are multiple categories. On each page there are songs that fall into that category. Each song has the title, the tune (if applicable) and the lyrics to the song.
Unfortunately not every song was sung to a tune that is universally familiar. Some where sung to made up tunes. I still included these in the book. This gives the teacher the liberty to make up their own tune, or simply skip over that song entirely.
Some songs are just sung to their own tune. For example, “The B-I-B-L-E” is sung to it’s own tune.
It also includes what teacher props are used and what manipulatives are used for the babies.

- Music connects emotion and memory. Songs stay in a child’s heart far beyond the classroom.
- Singing makes teaching simple. You don’t have to prepare a “lesson”—the songs are the lesson.
- Music invites participation. Even shy or nonverbal toddlers can clap, bounce, or smile along.

Getting Your Book Ready for Class
To prepare your Cradle Roll Nursery Class: Songs for Babies book, start by printing it double-sided. Make sure your print settings are set to “flip on the short edge” so everything lines up correctly. I also recommend printing the cover separately to ensure it matches up just right.
For durability—especially if your book will be used week after week—laminating the pages is a great idea. If your church building doesn’t have a laminator, you can find affordable options online that work well for home use.
When it comes to binding, you have a few options:
- Use a binding machine – If you or your church has one, this is a great way to keep everything neat and professional.
- Binder rings or page protectors – Slip each page into a protector and place them in a binder, or punch holes and use rings for a flexible, flip-through style.
- Keep it simple – Don’t underestimate the power of a good stapler! A few well-placed staples can hold everything together just fine.
The most important thing? Don’t stress about how it looks. Your babies won’t notice if the corners are laminated or if it’s bound with rings or string. What they do notice is your voice, your smile, and the joy in your singing. That’s what makes Bible class special.
You Can Do It
You don’t have to be a professional singer or an experienced teacher to use this book. All you need is a willing heart and a love for babies and the Lord.
This book gives you a simple, loving framework to help guide little ones as they begin their journey of faith—through song, through smiles, and through Scripture truths they’ll carry with them for life.
