Simple Homemade Guacamole Recipe

This simple homemade guacamole recipe is packed full of flavor, but not a lot of ingredients. Making it an easy and delicious snack that is not only tasty, but also good for you!

Equipment

  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring spoons
  • Manual or electric food processor (not required, but makes the job easier)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe avocados I always buy 4 just in case one has a bad spot
  • 2 Tablespoons of cilantro
  • 2 Tablespoons of lime juice approximately one lime
  • 1 Teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of onion powder
  • 2 small jalapeño or 1 large

Instructions
 

  • Cut off about 2 tablespoons of cilantro leaves and add it to your food processor.
  • Cut up the jalapeño and remove the seeds and membrane.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of lime juice.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of onion powder and 1 teaspoon of garlic salt.
  • Cut your avocados
  • Cut avocados in half and remove the pits. Carefully dice the avocado without cutting through the skin.
  • Scoop the diced avocado out of one avocado into the food processor with the other guacamole ingredients
  • Chop the ingredients until everything is smooth and throughly chopped.
  • Add the rest of the avocado to the guacamole in the food processor and blend until you reach the consistency you desire.
  • Serve it up and enjoy with your favorite tortilla chip!

Notes

If you don't have garlic salt on hand, don't fret. Just mix 1/4 T of salt and 1/4 t of garlic powder and you have a perfect alternative!
Don't have jalapeños? Just replace 1 jalapeños with 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper!
Leave in some of the seeds to make a spicier guacamole.
To make a really smooth guacamole, add in all of the avocado and chop until you don't see any more chunks.
